ABOUT MRS. “J”

 

I have my undergraduate degree in Music Education from UC Irvine and my Masters in Education, specializing in Higher Education Student Services Administration. I am a member of NASPA, NACAC and NACADA. I currently teach private music lessons, working with high school students in my community in transferring to 2 year, 4 year or trade schools. 

I have been teaching for almost twenty years, privately one-on-one and in group settings. I have taught young students (3 years old) to older students (88 years old) and the thing that amazes me the most is the overall good feelings that all age groups and cultures get from music and academic advising.

Although I have been teaching music far longer than college counseling and academic advising, both of them provide me with the opportunity to get to know students and help them on their journey through life.
